About me

My Approach

In the room, I'm client-led and client-focused — meeting people where they're at. We work towards creating a space where we can be curious about what's unfolding, both between us and within each of us, in a way that supports your own awareness and growth. I want you to feel truly seen and heard. Above all, I value the co-creation of this space — building it together, and staying curious about whatever unfolds.

About Rebecca

I've been a clinical psychologist for approximately fifteen years now. Much of my earlier years were spent in community-based support work, in some of the most human, raw corners of people's lives, before I trained as a psychologist. I then moved into public and private mental health services, and transitioned to private practice when the balance of work and family life became more important.

Through these experiences I developed a real passion for this work. I recognised my capacity to think deeply, to be reflective, and to hold a lot of complexity, alongside warmth, humour, and genuineness. Having worked with people carrying some of the more complex and challenging experiences, I've come to deeply value what it means to simply sit in relationship with someone through hard moments, and the healing that can come from being held, seen, and met by someone who is present and available.

My own experience of therapy has been central to this. To do this work, I recognised it was necessary to undertake an ongoing process of understanding my own processes, so that I can hold that same curiosity for others. Ongoing learning and personal growth are genuinely a passion of mine — almost a special interest in their own right. This has led me to train in Gestalt therapy and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, alongside EMDR and Compassion Focused Therapy. In my clinical work I draw on these trainings not as a checklist of techniques, but as different lenses that support my understanding of the processes, people, and systems that shape us.

I tend to work well with people who are insightful and reflective, ready to do the work and open to the process — including those carrying their own developmental trauma and who want the time and space to go deep.

More recently, being diagnosed with autism and ADHD has reshaped how I understand myself, both as a person and as a clinician. It's deepened my capacity to sit with the relational and psychological depths of this work, and it's brought me into my own process of unmasking — working out what is a mask and what genuinely isn't. It's something I remain passionate about exploring, both for myself and for others navigating something similar.

If this resonates, I'd love to hear from you.

Outside of work, I'm mum to two children, one dog (Winston), and one cat (Smokey), and you'll usually find me with music on, deep into a movie or series, doing laps at the pool, or squeezing in a gym session when I can.
