How I Work
I understand that sometimes there's something obvious that brings you to this space with me. However, often it's not just one thing. It's the ongoing weight of holding something for a long time. Whether that's built slowly over the years, caught up with you all at once, been brought closer to the surface by something recent, or simply reached the point where carrying it alone stops being sustainable. No matter where you're at, I understand reaching out isn't always an easy step.
In our work you'll find things you can weave into everyday life, alongside space simply to be. Both matter, especially early on, and what's needed can shift from person to person, or session to session. I draw on EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy, somatic and relational work. EMDR in particular can also stand on its own as a more targeted piece, if there's a specific memory or experience you want to work through directly rather than through longer, ongoing work. Insight matters, but for many people it isn't enough on its own. So alongside understanding, we work with what's held in the body, supporting your nervous system to find more ease so you can begin to respond rather than react to what life brings.
We will initially work together to try and find some relief from what's distressing you now, creating a place to land, to feel supported, and less alone in it all. From there, we build toward something deeper. Something that’s safe, and genuinely yours. Where we hold, explore and honour whatever you as an individual living in your context need to work through. Processing trauma can be one part of that work; healing happens as we tend to all aspects of you. Your neurodivergence, your culture, your identity, your history, and your context - over time.
EMDR
I'm trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and it's a core part of how I work. For some people, it's woven into longer-term, integrative work. For others, it can stand alone as a more targeted way of processing a specific memory or experience, without needing to commit to ongoing therapy.
This is an affirming space.
For neurodivergence. For gender and sexuality. For cultural identity and context. For all bodies, all shapes and sizes. For anyone whose voice hasn't always been heard as clearly as it should be.
All brains and bodies work, feel, communicate, and make meaning differently, so the support that helps will look different for each person, shaped by what you actually need and not a fixed idea of what therapy should look like.
I welcome you sharing any accommodations you need with me during our work together. You may know what supports you before you arrive, and we can keep working this through over time, so that we can create more ease and safety in the work and in the relationship itself. I bring a lens of lived experience to this, too. Being late-diagnosed autistic and ADHD myself means I understand, first-hand, what it takes to unpack and make sense of a diagnosis later in life, after years of having adapted without knowing why, or what it was costing you.
I recognise that some communities carry more vulnerability than others because of systems that were never built with them in mind. As a practice, I continue to acknowledge my own privilege and work to address it, including the ways micro aggressions can show up even unintentionally, and to minimise the impact of that on the people I work with. My aim is to be an ally, and to help build spaces that feel genuinely trusting and safe, in a world where this often isn't the case.
Session Fees
I charge $250 for a 50 minute session. I also offer a few reduced fee sessions at $220 for 50 minutes for concession card holders or students. Please note once these sessions are filled I am unable to take on any further reduced fee sessions.
This is an affirming space — for neurodivergence, gender and sexuality, cultural identity, and all bodies.
